During the above maintenance window we will undertake an upgrade of the router global-switch.edge.enta.net to a higher specification router. This work is being carried out to ensure continuity of service given the current levels of growth experienced and is a pre-emptive measure. Any directly connected customers and equipment will suffer a loss of connectivity during this work, however it is anticipated that the duration will be no longer than 20 minutes. We apologise for this planned outage and wish to assure you that all possible steps are being taken to minimise the consequences.

The router telehouse-north.core.enta.net will have an IOS upgrade during the maintenance window above. The expected downtime for the reload is 5 mins, during which, customers who are directly connected to this unit will suffer a small period of downtime. Other customers should not be affected, although there is a chance of some routing instability for a few minutes after the reload. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We will be performing an upgrade of the LNS router ‘ELM’ during the above maintenance window. In preparation for this work we have today restricted logins to this equipment, ensuring that a minimum number of users will be affected. During the upgrade, all DSL users connected to this equipment will lose connection and should automatically reconnect to a different LNS, causing a momentary loss of service. We can confirm that the alternative equipment has sufficient capacity to manage the extra load. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and wish to assure you that we are taking all possible steps to lessen the impact of the work.
