IOS Upgrades

Posted: Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 at 12:47 by Neil Watson

Estimated timescales: 31.01.2007 – 15.02.2007

Following on from recent Cisco announcements we will be undertaking a series of network IOS upgrades to ensure security and stability within our network. The upgrades will principally involve managed equipment on customer sites, as the core network is already running IOS versions that are not susceptible to the announced vulnerabilities. The work will take place over the coming fortnight, with the expectation that all affected equipment will have been upgraded by 15th February 2007, this timescale is purely due to the large array of managed customers that connect to the Entanet network. Affected equipment will require a reboot, which will be carried out at the time of upgrade. If you are a customer with managed equipment on site, it is likely that you will suffer a small period of downtime (less than 5 minutes) within the next fortnight. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause, however, due to the severity of the vulnerabilties it is necessary to complete this work as soon as possible.
