We are currently aware of a major network incident affecting one of our suppliers that has affected our network routing. We have lost our Manchester to London link and our Birmingham to London link which means that all network traffic that would normally route via these POPs is being passed through our Telford POP. Non MPLS customers should still be able to route however may be subject some delays due to the increased amount of bandwidth being sent via Telford. Customers who utilise MPLS will unfortunately not be able to route to London if they are connected to any of the POPs detailed above. We will continue to push for resolution of the problem and apologise for any inconvenience that will be caused.

Major Network Incident: Birmingham / Manchester / Wolverhampton
Posted: Wednesday, June 27th, 2007 at 13:19 by Neil WatsonPlanned Maintenance: Email Platform
Posted: Friday, June 22nd, 2007 at 13:38 by Neil WatsonMonday 25th June 2006, 22.00hrs – 06.00hrs and Tuesday 26th June, 22.00hrs – 06.00hrs.
During the maintenance windows detailed above we will be moving our email platform to a new Data Centre location. It is anticipated that the work should not cause downtime for any user, given that the move will be performed in a staged manner and the resilience of our email offering. We will of course update once the work is complete.
Planned Network Maintenance
Posted: Friday, June 8th, 2007 at 15:59 by Neil WatsonWednesday 13th June 2007 00.00hrs – 06.00hrs
During the above maintenance window we will be carrying out a series of tasks that will impact users connected to our network in the following locations:
Global Switch: We will be upgrading the router supervisor engine which will involve a period of 20 mins downtime for users connected to global-swith.core.enta.net. This work should not impact our DSL users connected to our Global Switch Centrals.
Telecity HEX 8-9: We will be upgrading a 10 gig blade in telecity.core.enta.net. This upgrade will involve approximately 10 mins downtime for all directly connected users.
Telehouse Metro: We will be upgrading a 10 gig blade in telehouse-metro.core.enta.net. This upgrade will involve approximately 10 mins downtime for all directly connected users.
Interxion: We will be upgrading 2 x 10 gig blade and a gige blade in interxion.core.enta.net. This upgrade will involve approximately 30 mins downtime for all directly connected users.
Telehouse North: We will be connecting a new router into one of our London10gig rings. Following on from its installation there may be a short period of routing instability while we move fiber.
For all of the above work we do not anticipate any downtime for our standard DSL service. L2TP customers located in the above sites will be affected.

The link from London to Manchester has now been restored and traffic is now flowing via Manchester to London. This eases the pressure on our Telford links and customers should see some performance improvement on the past few hours. We will continue to push to get the network back to full strength. Thank you for your patience whilst we resolve these issues.
