Frankfurt Network Upgrade

Posted: Wednesday, October 17th, 2007 at 23:28 by Steve Lalonde

Monday 22nd October 2007 20:00 – Tuesday 23rd October 2007 03:00

We will be replacing frankfurt.core.enta.net with a new more powerful router and increasing the capacity of the network from Amsterdam to Frankfurt and London to Frankfurt to 10Gbps each.

During the work all traffic that normally passes via Frankfurt will take alternative paths, we do not expect any interruption to service.

  1. Steve Lalonde says:

The router has been upgraded as planned, but our engineers report the fibers for the 10 gig lines back to Amsterdam and London are not in our rack as we were informed.

We are currently working with the DC staff and our DWDM line supplier to resolve this.

Planned Maintenance: Telehouse North

Posted: Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007 at 16:28 by Neil Watson

Tuesday 9th October 2007 00.00 – 06.00hrs

As part of our continued network investment we will be upgrading the supervisor engines on our Telehouse North routers during the maintenance window specified above. All customers that are connected to this location will experience a small period of downtime whilst the work is carried out. It is expected that this downtime will be limited to 30 minutes or less. We apologise for the inconvenience that the work will cause.

  1. Steve Lalonde says:

This work is now complete, we had a few problems with one of the routers but it has now been stable for 30 mins.

DSL Speed Issues in Scotland and Northern Ireland

Posted: Monday, October 1st, 2007 at 19:12 by Neil Watson

Following an increased number of calls and email tickets in to support we can confirm that their are a number of users within parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland that may be experiencing speed issues. We have spoken to BT who have confirmed that there are transmission (cabling) faults between Edinburgh-Birmingham and Carlisle-Glasgow which are effecting these areas.

These faults have resulted in BT rerouting traffic over alternative sections of the network. Further updates as we receive them.
