Planned Maintenance: Upgrade of 2 x 10Gbps blades in telehouse-east.core.enta.net

Posted: Thursday, May 29th, 2008 at 16:55 by Neil Watson

Friday 06th June 2008, 00.00hrs to 06.00hrs

During the maintenance window specified above we will be upgrading 2 10Gbps blades in the telehouse-east.core.enta.net router. We will perform the work in a controlled fashion, completing individual blades at a time. Users directly connected to these blades will suffer a small period of downtime whilst the work is completed, however this is not anticipated as being greater than 30 minutes. Other users may experience some routing instability during this time.

We will be contacting customers who will be directly affected and apologise for the inconvenience.

    This work was completed successfully

Planned Maintenance: telehouse-east.dsl.enta.net

Posted: Thursday, May 29th, 2008 at 16:40 by Neil Watson

Friday 06th June 2008, 00.00hrs to 06.00hrs

Following on from recent issues with our DSL service it is necessary to replace telehouse-east.dsl.enta.net which terminates users connected to Central Pipes 1 and 6. This work will impact users of our DSL network during the times specified above and may require us to rebalance the Central pipes following on from the work. We are currently planning to minimise the effects of the work by moving the fibers in a controlled fashion and will look to ensure the minimum amount of downtime possible. This work will also involve the move of several LNS routers.

We apologise for the problems and inconvenience that this work will cause and wish to reassure you that we will do everything possible to complete the work in the speediest time with at little disruption as possible.

  1. Steve Lalonde says:

This work was finished inside the maintenance window. Traffic levels on all 6 central pipes are well balanced and no additional balancing work is required.

We are currently aware of some issues with our DSL pool and our team is investigating. We have high call volumes coming into support so please bear with us. We will give more information as we have it.

  1. Neil Watson says:

Our systems team have advised that one of of core DSL routers have reloaded causing the problems seen by our users. The router has now been restored and connections should be working as normal. We have the crash info and are currently analysing the cause. Apologies to anyone affected.

Partial Outage: Telford DC3 Air Conditioning

Posted: Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 at 16:41 by Neil Watson

We are currently experiencing some issues with the air conditioning in DC3 in our Telford Headquarters. It appears as though some AC units have lost power, as such we are attempting to maintain the temperature as low as possible until the feed can be restored. We are of course working to restore the system promptly and will update with further information as it becomes available. Naturally we apologise to all of those affected.

  1. Neil Watson says:

Air Conditioning in the main has been restored in the data centre, we are still operating with a slightly reduced facility, however the room is now cooling successfully and the temperature is reducing. We will continue to monitor and will advise when full service is restored.

  2. Neil Watson says:

We are aware that the temperature in DC3 is increasing again. We are working to keep the environment as cool as possible and expect remedial works to take place over the weekend to allow us to maintain a consistent temperature. Again apologies for the problems that this will cause.

  3. Steve Lalonde says:

Cooling Problems in DC3 are now resolved, all air handling units are fully operational again.
