At Risk: Sheffield and Nottingham pops

Posted: Thursday, June 4th, 2009 at 19:23 by Steve Lalonde

There is a fiber cut affecting several links to both Nottingham and Sheffield pops, all services are running over alternate paths. Customers connected via the Sheffield pop may notice a small increase in latency due to the increased path length.

Our carriers engineers are currently working to determine the exact fault location.

We currently do not have an ETR, further updates will follow.

  1. Steve Lalonde says:

OTDR test results from the Sheffield end indicate a fault 30 km from Sheffield.

    No ETR yet.

  2. Steve Lalonde says:

All links were fully operational by 01:30, affected sites are no longer at risk.
