Tuesday 30/11/2010 01:00 – 06:00

Following on from recent network incidents it has become necessary to replace goswellroad.core.enta.net router with a higher specification device. All directly connected customers will be affected.

Wednesday 01/12/2010 01:00 – 06:00
Thursday 02/12/2010 01:00 – 06:00

Following on from recent network incidents it has become necessary to schedule a series of emergency maintenance windows at the above time in order to undertake IOS upgrades to the routers specified below. Each update will require a reboot of the device and hence anyone directly connected will experience a brief outage. It is anticipated that each such outage will last approximately 15 minutes.

Please also be aware that the network will suffer short periods of instability during the entire window due to routing protocol re-convergence.

The following routers will be affected on the following days.

Planned Engineering Work – MSAN Upgrades

Posted: Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010 at 12:19 by Richard Partridge

Work will be carried out on BT Wholesale’s 21CN Broadband Network which will be carried out on the following dates and times;

Monday 29/11/2010 02:00 – 06:00
Tuesday 30/11/2010 02:00 – 06:00
Wednesday 01/12/2010 02:00 – 06:00
Thursday 02/12/2010 02:00 – 06:00

During these times line cards will be remotely reset to take new firmware.

BT advise that customers will experience downtime of around 60 minutes, however we would ask customers to wait for the maintenance window to close and to reboot their router before contacting the support desk should connectivity issues persist.

A list of exchanges affected has been uploaded here for reference.

We apologise for any inconvenience this essential work may cause.

Network Instability

Posted: Monday, November 22nd, 2010 at 14:02 by Martyn Haynes

We are experiencing some instability across our network. We are continuing to investigate the cause. Further updates will be provided as we have them.

  1. Martyn Haynes says:

The earlier instability has been narrowed down to slough.core.enta.net. As a matter of urgency we have upgraded the software version, this process requires a reboot which took place a short time ago.

During this time all directly connected customers without backup services would have been off line. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

  2. Martyn Haynes says:

Engineers have advised that the software upgrade and reboot have been successful. We will continue to monitor as a matter of course.

  3. Richard Partridge says:

An incident report has been made available for this issue. It can be found here.

Intermittent No Audio Issues on VoIP Enrich

Posted: Wednesday, November 10th, 2010 at 09:43 by Jon Farmer

We are currently seeing a small number of calls made through our VoIP Enrich platform suffering from a “No Audio” issue. We have identified the cause of this issue. The fix requires a restart of one of the servers and this will be performed out of main business hours this evening.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

  1. Jon Farmer says:

Due to a big increase in the number of calls that were being affected by these issues we took the decision to restart the server. This cut-off all calls that were in progress on this server. Since the restart we have not seen a re-occurrence of this issue. We will continue to monitor for the rest of the day.
