At Risk: Northern POPs

Posted: Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014 at 18:36 by Richard Partridge

We are currently investigating a loss of service on our Glasgow to Preston core network link. Traffic is currently passing across alternative paths. For the time being, Preston, Glasgow, Scolocate, Edinburgh and Newcastle core routers (and any directly connected services into these cores) are considered at risk due to the loss of resilience.

  1. Ryan Berrisford says:

Our suppliers have confirmed the incident was due to a fibre break which has now been repaired. A period of monitoring has followed which has highlighted no further issues. Resiliency has therefore been restored to the affected core locations and no further problems are expected.

DSL Cannot Connect Issues

Posted: Monday, April 14th, 2014 at 11:39 by Wayne Hawtin

We are currently experiencing an issue preventing some 20c and 21c DSL users connecting to our service. The issue is not geographically restrained to one area and spans multiple nodes. We are investigating this as a matter of urgency and further updates will be provided when they become available.

  1. Wayne Hawtin says:

We can see service has been restored for a number of users, however as some customers are still experiencing difficulties connecting, our investigation is continuing. Further updates will be provided when they become available.

  2. Wayne Hawtin says:

We can now see that normal service has been restored and we are continuing to monitor the situation.

During the above maintenance window we will be upgrading the software on telehouse-north.core.enta.net and telehouse-east3.core.enta.net, this will require the routers to be rebooted.

No customers are directly connected to these routers and traffic through the routers will be rerouted over alternate paths before the upgrade work begins.

Each router will be offline for approximately 30 mins.
