Planned Maintenance: VoIP Platform

We are planning maintenance work on the VoIP platform on both Tuesday 28th February and Thursday 2nd March.  Tuesday’s work will be completed between 23:00 – 23:30 and users may experience some disruption initiating calls or a disconnection of any call in progress once the work has begun.  Thursday’s window will be confirmed via a further comment on this post upon completion of Tuesday’s activity.  In order to ensure the number of users affected is at a minimum, we are looking to complete any maintenance work outside of peak times.

Any further related maintenance after Thursday will be notified via it’s own independent post.

Emergency Work: Birmingham 3

Friday 24th February 2017  10:30am – 12:30pm,

During the above window and following on from the previous NOC post (http://noc.enta.net/2017/02/incident-birmingham-3-power-loss/) we are going to undertake the installation of replacement equipment within our Birmingham 3 site. The power should be considered at risk while we work on installing a new UPS and transfer switch to restore and also improve the power redundancy within our rack.

Emergency Maintenance: VoIP platform

During the above window there will be some emergency maintenance work performed on the VoIP platform. Users may experience some disruption initiating calls or a disconnection of any call in progress. We apologise for the short notice of this work, however in order to ensure the number of users affected is at a minimum, we are performing at a time when call volumes on the platform are typically very low.

Edinburgh

We are aware of a potential problem with our Edinburgh POP.  This will affect any services which connect directly to our core network here including broadband and Ethernet.  Initial investigation indicates this may be a reboot of the device, however we will advise further once more information becomes available.

    We are continuing to monitor following a reboot of the Edinburgh core router earlier today. Engineering resource is being deployed to the POP tomorrow for further investigatory purposes. We would consider connected services to be at risk until this has taken place.

    Our colocation provider in Edinburgh has confirmed that an issue has been resolved with a provided UPS which serves our equipment in this location. We no longer consider any previously affected services to be at risk.

Potential VoIP Disruption

We are currently aware of a potential issue affecting some VoIP services.  We are currently investigating and collating examples.  We will provide further information once it becomes available.

    We have restarted a process on one of our VoIP servers and are now monitoring for any further issue. This issue should have only affected a small proportion of any calls placed due to load being spread over multiple servers.

At-Risk: Cardiff.core

Due to multiple link failures within the network at present, cardiff.core should be considered at risk. Engineers are already working on restoring redundant paths.

Incident: Birmingham 3 Power Loss

We are currently experiencing a loss of power within our Birmingham 3 point of presence. This is causing a loss of service for a small number of directly connected leased line customers.  Affected customers have been contacted and advised directly.

Engineers are currently investigating and already have resources on their way to site to continue their investigation. Further updates will be provided as and when they become available.

Incident: Telehouse East Satellite Device

We are aware of an incident in Telehouse East which briefly affected a small number of customers. The incident looks to have been caused by an unexpected reload of a satellite device. Services affected include Ethernet and DSL.

All services should now be restored and further updates will follow.

If you still have an issue with any individual circuits, please power cycle the device before contacting the support team. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Incident: Edinburgh DSL Connections

We are aware of an issue that affected DSL connections coming into our Edinburgh point of presence. Users coming into this node would have briefly lost connectivity. Our Network Operations Centre has investigated and service is now restored.

Telephone System Issue

We are aware of a problem with our telephone system and are currently experiencing difficulties making and receiving calls.  We are working with our provider to ensure functionality is restored at the earliest opportunity.
