Outage: Columbo WBC interconnect

Posted: Saturday, April 18th, 2009 at 21:54 by Steve Lalonde

We are currently experiencing an outage with the WBC interconnect at Columbo node. This appears to be a fault at the BT end of the interconnect, BT engineers are aware of the fault.

We currently have no ETR

  1. Steve Lalonde says:

Service was restored at approx 2.30 am.

Initial indications to the cause suggest this was an MPLS TE fault behind the EEA (Ethernet Edge Aggregator).

    More detail will follow.

Planned Engineering Work: DSL transfer to IPStream Connect

Posted: Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008 at 10:55 by Neil Watson

Throughout January 2009 we will be transferring DSL based connections over to the new IPStream Connect platform. This platform has several benefits over the existing IPStream Central approach, including greater flexibility in relation to bandwidth management and an increased number of interconnects. The transfer will take place on a realm by realm basis and will be closely managed by both Entanet and BT. Users should not experience any loss of service or service degradation during the transfer as existing connections will continue to work on the IPStream Central platform until the user re-authenticates. At this point the connection will be transferred automatically over our IPStream Connect platform. All other features of the products remain the same, including potential line speeds, interleaving status etc.

  1. Neil Watson says:

Further to the above post, we will be moving the main realms of adsllogin.co.uk and adsl.enta.net along with several other minor realms tomorrow. The transfer will be closely monitored by both BT and Entanet to ensure a smooth transition. Users should suffer no disruption as the changes only take effect as they re-authenticate.
