Planned Maintenance: Telford-dc3-2.core

During the above window we will be replacing with a higher capacity router.

All services currently terminated in this location will be migrated on to the new hardware. This includes leased-lines, colocation and pseudowires terminating at this location. Whilst actual downtime is expected to be no more than 30 minutes for each circuit, the full 6 hrs may be required to account for any unforeseen issues.

All other traffic that would normally route through this location will take alternative paths.

Planned Maintenance: Telford DC2 Equipment

During the above window we will be relocating the below equipment out of DC2 in Telford and into DC3. Downtime for each device should be no more than 30 minutes at any point within the window:

  • pwan-diag
  • pwan-kikker.edge
  • pwan-tlf.edge

Please note that during this window the Mirada virtual machine used for troubleshooting will be unavailable briefly and whilst pawn-kikker.edge is relocated all PWAN devices will show as unreachable. This will however not affect the operation of PWAN devices and no downtime will be experienced as a result. During the move of pwan-tlf.edge some customers will experience a loss of connectivity to colocation in Telford from their PWAN. Individual customers will be notified separately if this will directly affect them.

Planned Maintenance: Telford DC3

 Monday 15th January 2018 23:00 – Tuesday 16th January 06:00 

During the above window we will be performing necessary power and cable maintenance in the datacenter in preparation for the Installation of new hardware.

No down time is expected and all precautions will be taken to avoid any disruption, however during this time any customers within this data center should be considered at risk.

Any customers that may be at a particular risk due to the power work, will be notified.

At Risk: telford-dc3.core

We have experienced a failure of one of the UPS devices that protects telford-dc3.core. Due to this failure telford-dc3.core is running without full resiliency.

We will be undertaking work to replace the failed unit and restore full power redundancy at 5.30PM.

Services connected to or through telford-dc3.core should be considered at risk until the work is completed.

Further updates will be provided when the work is due to start.

At-Risk: Telford Power

We have been notified by Western Power Distribution that they will be carrying out planned work on the power network during the above window.

We have been advised that the work will not affect our power supply, but after recent power issues we thought it prudent to raise the work as at-risk.

There will be short (up to approximately 15 minutes) outage for users connected to the affected router during this work.

At-Risk: Telford Data Centre 3 Cooling

We are currently aware of and working on an issue with one of our air cooling units in Data Centre 3 which appears to have failed. Measures are currently in place to minimise the impact that the loss of this unit is having.

Although we do not expect this to adversely affect the service we offer, this does mean that the remaining Data Centre cooling system is currently running at an increased load and we advise customers to consider the site “At Risk” until repair work has been completed.

Cooling engineers are working on the fault and the current ETR is 09/03/2010 12:00.

To resolve the intermittent packet loss issue on the Telford to Wolverhampton link it has become necessary to reload This emergency work should take approx 10 minutes to complete, during which all directly connected customers will lose connectivity.

At-Risk: Loss of Resilience Telford

The Circuit between Telford and Wolverhampton has been taken off-line while we investigate intermittent packet loss issues with the circuit. Traffic usually on this path is using an alternative route. Customers may experience an increase in latency to some destinations.
