We will be upgrading one of our two 1 gig LINX ports to 10 gig today at approx 12:00.
The existing port will be shut down and traffic will move to the other port
This work is not expected to cause any noticable network outage
We have just been informed by BT that a power supply supplying ADSL termination equipment in Telehouse East is experiencing problems. Whilst this has not resulted in any end user issues, BT wish to replace the unit as soon as possible to avoid failure. This replacement work is due to be carried out at 12.00hrs today and should be complete within the hour. Given the resilience built into the Entanet network, there is very limited scope for downtime to occur, although a small window of minor disruption may be noticed at the point of switchover to alternative units that will perform the role of the affected hardware. We apologise for the short notice given and for any disruption caused.
We are pleased to announce that on Thursday 03rd August 2006 we will be introducing three additional LNS servers into our Global Switch facility. These additional servers will increase the total numbers of users allowed to connect by approximately 15000, providing future growth potential for Entanet and all of our partners. The servers will initially be configured to reside outside of our live environment and, as such, the introduction will not affect any live service and no down time is envisaged. The extra capacity will be introduced on a gradual basis as required.
This coming Friday we will be undertaking an upgrade to our HQ power supply in order to provide extra capacity and growth for our datacentres. The work will require the removal of mains power to and as such, we will switch to our standby generators to ensure continuity of service. We do not envisage downtime for any customer. All work should be completed by 13.00hrs.
Following on from the minor power issue experienced on 01st August 2006, please see attached incident report for information. The outage affected a small percentage of customers and a reoccurrence is not envisaged.
