During the above window we will be performing a software upgrade and a reload of one of our devices at this location. This is expected to take approximately 1 hour, during which time directly connected customers will lose service. All other traffic will remain unaffected.

Affected services include DSL and leased lines terminated in this location.

Incident: Glasgow

We have experienced two brief losses of power to our equipment located in our Glasgow PoP. Engineers are investigating with our colocation provider. Power is currently restored however should still be considered at risk. Further updates will be provided when available.

Incident: Edinburgh

We have experienced a loss of power to our equipment located in our Edinburgh PoP. Power has already been restored however some services still remain affected. Engineers are investigating and further updates will be provided when available.

    A second brief power interruption has been experienced at this location. Engineers are still currently investigating the issue with our colocation provider.

    Updates from our colocation provider indicate that they have seen power disruption at this location and investigating. Further updates from them are not expected until their engineers have been able to attend site.

    Although power is currently restored at this location and the majority of services appear to be function at this time, they should still be considered at risk until our suppliers can confirm the incident is resolved.

    We have had confirmation from our colocation provider that the disruption was caused by the failure of the local power supply and the failure of their on site backup generator to take over.

    Our provider is currently on site and installing a replacement generator. As such this location should still be considered at risk until this work is complete. Further updates will be provided when they are available.

Virgin Media Leased Lines

We are currently aware of an incident on Virgin Media’s network which is causing a loss of service to several Virgin Media provided leased lines.

Virgin Media are currently investigating and updates will be provided as and when they become available.

    Virgin Media have identified a problem with one of their core routers in Telehouse and they are continuing their investigation although no ETR is available as of yet.

    Service appears to have been restored and stable for approximately 10 minutes now however no further information is available from Virgin Media as of yet. The affected circuits should be considered at risk until further information on this incident is available.

    Service has remained stable and the incident is now considered closed. We are awaiting an incident report from Virgin Media which should be made available to us next week.

Planned Work: Leased Lines Telehouse

Wednesday 6th October 2010, 00:01hrs – 06:00hrs and Thursday 7th October 2010, 00:01hrs – 06:00hrs

During the  window above, we will be performing essential maintenance on our network involving the replacement of core equipment that terminates any Ethernet based leased lines in Telehouse.  There will be a short (up to approx 15 minutes) outage for each individual circuit that is being moved from the existing router into our new equipment.  Lines will be moved sequentially throughout the maintenance period.
