Planned Work: Interxion DSL Core

During the above window we will be performing a rack migration of the Interxion DSL platform. This is a service impacting maintenance. 

At the start of the maintenance window, sessions connected to the Interxion side of the platform will be forcibly disconnected and will allowed to reconnect to the Telehouse infrastructure for the duration of the work. Once the rack migration has been completed, sessions will be rebalanced across the platform by performing additional disconnections from the Telehouse side.

This work is required in preparation to work our Datacenter supplier is carrying out to replace the CRAC units at this location https://noc.enta.net/2024/03/planned-work-interxion-datacenter-lon1-crac-unit-replacement/

For the avoidance of doubt, all DSL services connected to the Interxion side of the platform at the start of the window will experience a brief outage while sessions are torn down and reconnect. All services connected to the Telehouse side of the platform may experience a brief outage towards the end of the window when rebalancing occurs.

During the above window we will be performing works on our DSL core within this location. This is a “dry run” in preparation of the maintenance our Colocation provider will be carrying out https://noc.enta.net/2024/03/planned-work-interxion-datacenter-lon1-crac-unit-replacement/

For the duration of the works the DSL core at this location will be taken down, due to this there will be a loss of resiliency across the DSL estate as all DSL traffic and sessions will be handled via our Telehouse DSL core. Sessions will be drained gracefully from the Interxion LNS pool prior to the works with any remaining sessions forcibly disconnected on the night of the start date before reconnecting to the Telehouse LNS pool.

During the above window our Colocation provider will be carrying out a refresh of the CRAC Units (Aircon) within our suite and the wider datacenter. Units will be replaced one at a time and we do not anticipate service impact to customers.

For the duration of the work the site should be considered at-risk.

During the above window, we will decommission our NNI between she275-rtr-1 and she20-rtr-1. Any services currently terminating at she275 will be migrated to she20, and may experience an outage of up to 1 hour during the window. In the event that any services remain down following the work, we kindly ask customers to reboot their CPE and ONT prior to raising a ticket with our Service Desk.

Supplier Planned Work: Interxion Power Work

Our colocation provider Interxion has notified us of critical power works that they will be carrying out on the above date.

The work carried being carried out will result in the B-Feed to the suite being isolated for the duration of the maintenance window while upgrade work is carried out.

This work is remedial action by the colocation provider due to the power events that occured within the datacenter 14/9/2022.

Efforts have been carried out to minimze disruption to services and devices within our suite. A Cityfibre/Entanet engineer will be on site on the day of the maintenance as a precuation.
